Circinate Vernation soutache set

Circinate Vernation soutache set
My 2014 battle piece is called „Circinate Vernation“ and it is a set of a necklace and a pair of earrings. The name covers its resemblance to fern as well as the vast amount of spirals. Originally and in private, I used a Czech nickname „Rákosníček“ which is a character from a famous Czech child cartoon. If you’d like to know why, try to google it I worked with techniques such as peyote stitch, bead embroidery, beadweaving, and most of all soutache embroidery. Used materials are Czech Preciosa seed beads, Japanese seed beads 11/0 and 15/0, Czech fire polished beads, Czech pressed rounds, hand made polymer clay cabochons, a hand made glass cabochon with silver, Czech soutache braids, Ultrasuede and Alcantara suede for backing, Nymo and S-lon threads, and stainless steel wires for earrings. Sizing: 41 cm length around neck; 31 cm from clasp to the end of the longest fringe; max width 15 cm. I measured the time while I was sewing which took 70 hours. And so in reality, I guess, it took me many more hours to complete it Finally, I would like to thank to Lucie Růžičková who created the beautiful polymer clay cabs I used for this piece, and to Jana Zouzalová l Fotografie for the awesome photos on a model 🙂

Queen of Thorns

Queen of Thorns necklace
»Queen of Thorns« beadwoven necklace was inspired by a beautiful hand-embroidered dress from popular fantasy series. I personally adore all the outstanding costume work in this series, but the wedding dress for the queen-to-be Margaery of House Tyrell is my most favourite. The cout of arms of House Tyrell is a rose, that's why the flower and spikes. The name "Queen of Thorns" actually belongs to Margaery's Grandmother, but I picked it anyway because I think it suits the necklace very well. Materials: TOHO seed beads, Preciosa seed beads, Czech spikes, Czech leaf beads, Czech rounds...and surprisingly a big amount od time! 🙂
